Our tours are free to join up front. They operate on a pay-what-you-like model, which means you decide how much you want to pay your guide based on the experience you have with us. Copenhagen Free Walking Tours believes that everyone deserves to have a great walking tour experience regardless of budget. We do not charge in advance for our walking tours - instead, we operate on a pay-what-you-want model. You decide a fair and honest compensation once you’ve seen your guide’s work.
Copenhagen Free Walking Tours is a local collective of tour guides. small, independent union of freelance walking tour guides. In order to fund our operations, all guides pay a marketing fee to “Guided Tours Copenhagen ApS,” based on the number of guests who participate in the tour. This marketing fee pays for our website, administrative costs, marketing, and our presence on third party booking sites. Currently, our marketing fee for the Grand Tour of Copenhagen is 15 DKK per guest. Our Christianshavn Tour and Classical tour of Copenhagen have a marketing fee of 7.5 DKK per guest. You can help keep this fee down by booking directly through our website (booking button nearby??) and using guide-provided QR codes to check out our recommendations. Our guides are freelancers and receive no pay outside of guest contributions. Happily, we love what we do, and that love and experience makes us wonderful guides, many of whom have made a full-time living for over ten years.

Everyone has to decide on their tip considering many circumstances but people should also consider the cost of life in Copenhagen and compare to paid tours. Lets be fair and keep this in mind.
